Fact·SpaceLibrary

A day on Venus, measured as one rotation relative to the stars, is longer than a Venusian year. The planet orbits the Sun in about 225 Earth days and turns on its axis in about 243. The sun there also rises in the west, because Venus spins backward compared with Earth. A calendar and a clock, on that world, refuse to behave like ours.

Worth knowing

On Venus, the day is longer than the year, and the sun rises in the west.
